How overlap is measured
Portfolio overlap adds up, for every stock both investors hold, the smaller of its two portfolio weights. Two identical portfolios score 100%; two with nothing in common score 0%. Owning the same stock at 0.1% and 20% counts only 0.1%, so the score reflects conviction both share, not just names in common.
13F books are long US equities at quarter end. Form 4 stakes (officer, director or 10% owner positions filed in the last 3 years) are valued at the latest close. Options, shorts, cash and non-US holdings are not included.
